Debunking the Myth: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Can't Dramatically Drain Your Battery
Wi-Fi vs. Cellular Data
Contrary to popular belief, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on iOS devices and smartphones from other manufacturers do not significantly drain your battery. In fact, connecting to Wi-Fi often conserves battery life compared to relying solely on cellular data for phone calls, texting, and data usage.
Airplane Mode Experiment
To test this myth, try enabling airplane mode on your device and then calling your own number. If the call connects, it indicates that your device is still able to receive cellular signals even when Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are disabled.
This experiment demonstrates that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth do not interfere with cellular connectivity and therefore cannot be the primary cause of battery drain. Rather, other factors such as background app activities, screen brightness, and software updates can have a more significant impact on battery consumption.
